Our new system is now live...

Login[14:55, Fri 3 July] Our new library catalogue is now live. In this first phase of a major national project, Dublin City Public Libraries, along with libraries in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal, Kildare, South Dublin and Wexford have introduced a new library management system (LMS) and made changes that will help us provide a better service to our library users.

We do regret the delay in making the system publicly available; the implementation of the new LMS was a significant undertaking, involving the migration and amalgamation of six separate systems in six separate library authorities.

You can now login to your account, renew and reserve items. Some of the benefits afforded by the new system are outlined below. We would welcome any and all feedback regarding  the new system.

The project is due for completion by mid-2016.

Libraries IrelandBenefits:

  • There will be a single national membership card when the project is completed (mid-2016).
  • There will be a shared national public library catalogue when the project is completed (mid-2016).
  • As of now, members of the following library services can search the shared library catalogue AND borrow from any of these library services:
    Dublin City Public Libraries
Dún Laoghaire – Rathdown County Library Service
    Fingal County Libraries
    Kildare Library & Arts Service
    South Dublin County Libraries
    Wexford Public Library Services
  • You can request items, and get recommendations, using the new shared catalogue.
  • You may borrow 12 items from any public library in Dublin, Kildare, Wexford.
  • Library users may return items borrowed in any of the other five library services to any Dublin City branch library. Correspondingly, items borrowed in a Dublin City branch library may be returned to any Dublin City branch library or any of the other five participating library services.
  • You can receive reminders via email that your books and DVDs will soon be due back, and that items you requested are ready for collection.
  • You can take out and return items using new self-service kiosks.

To get the best from these changes, please ensure that we have your mobile number, email address, and (when it becomes available) your eircode.

There may be some teething problems over the coming days – please bear with us!

My wishlist h as disappeared in my account page with the new website. Can you tell me how to get it back?

How can I see my wish list on the new site in my account?

New system implies you can reserve items but does not progress the request.

Should you experience difficulty using the online catalogue / login, or have an issue to report, please contact catalogue.support@librariesireland.ie. Kind regards.

Kind regards.

Where do I go to renew my borrowings from Rathmines library.

An item may be renewed online, in person, or by telephone (Rathmines tel. 01 4973539). To renew online, enter your name, library card number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you don't know your PIN, please ask at your local library. If renewing by telephone, please be ready to quote the number of the item (above the barcode) or your library card number.

I can not find the RENEW option on the new Site Layout. i want to renew several books that are due on 26May18. I have had an accident and I am in hospital and so I can not visit the library. I will continue to search for this option - so I may yet find an answer. Regards Brendan Chapman
