Delve into the past at Dublin’s Festival of History
Dublin’s third Festival of History will open this evening at 6pm at the Printworks, Dublin Castle. The Festival is an initiative of Dublin City Council’s Public Library Service and will run until 10th October 2015 in various venues. Lectures and talks are free but booking is essential on dublinfestivalofhistory.ie
The 1916 commemorations will feature strongly throughout the programme of events, along with discussions on some of history’s greats, Napoleon, Caesar and Wellington. This year’s Festival will have a Family and Children’s programme which will bring history to life for younger audiences.
The Dublin Festival of History features renowned Irish and international historians some of whom include Diarmaid Ferriter, Anne Dolan, Andrew Roberts and Tom Holland, to name a few. Highlights from the programme will include: The Rise and Fall of the House of Caesar, Easter Week Remembered and The Dublin History Trail for Families.
