The Donaghmede Charity Dash 5k Race and Family Fun Day will take place in Fr. Collins Park, Donaghmede, on Sunday, 8th May, at 3pm.

This 5k race is open to runners, joggers and walkers alike and is expected to draw over 200 competitors. Funds raised will go to the A-Z Children’s Charity which provides healthcare and education to orphans and children infected with HIV/AIDS in Uganda.

Alongside the event, a Family Fun Day will also be held in the beautiful surroundings of the park, one of Dublin’s award winning public amenities. Entertainment will include music from Dublin band ‘Brazen Lung’.

Notes to the Editor

The Donaghmede Dash is a joint promotion between Dublin City Council’s North Central Area Office, Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club and A-Z Children’s Charity.

A-Z Children’s Charity was set up by local resident Brian Iredale. The Charity is fighting the harrowing statistic in which 4 out of 5 Ugandan children infected with HIV die before their 5th birthday.

On-line entry is €10 and can be booked  at  or on the day of the race at the Marketing Suite, Park Avenue, ( beside the park), by 2.40pm.

A Family Fun Lap will take place at 4pm. Registration on the day.
