Dublin Celebrates 2nd International Day of Yoga

Indian Ambassador to Ireland Her Excellency Mrs. Radhika Lal Lokesh in the presence of an tArdmhéara Críona Ní Dhálaigh, will launch the 2016 International Day of Yoga, on Saturday 18th June from 10.30am – 12.30pm in Dartmouth Square, Ranelagh Dublin 6.

This event, which is in its 2nd year, is organised by The Indian Embassy in Ireland in association with Dublin City Council, the Yoga Association of Ireland and Happening’s to coincide with International Day of Yoga which is celebrated worldwide on June 21st.  

Speaking ahead of the launch an tArdmhéara said, “On the International Day of Yoga I am delighted to be supporting the Indian Embassy in Ireland to bring awareness to this ancient Indian practice. Many Irish and Dublin people practice yoga now and Dartmouth Square in Ranelagh is one the most popular venues in our city for weekly yoga classes. We  all need to build on any practices that promote physical and spiritual health and respect for fellow human beings and the nature. Indian Ambassador to Ireland, Her Excellency, Mrs. Radhika Lal Lokesh added, “On the International Day of Yoga we recognise the holistic benefits of Yoga which is a science that deals with body, mind, soul, and ultimately, the universe itself.  It promotes physical and spiritual health, respect for fellow human beings and nature.  Through the International Day of Yoga we hope to promote individual and public health, peaceful relations between communities and human dignity.”
