Dublin City – a Great Place to Grow Old in!

Age Friendly Over 55’s Open Day

Dublin City Council’s Central Area Office will hold an Age Friendly Over 55’s Open Day in the Central Library, Ilac Centre, on Thursday, 25th June, 2015 from 2pm to 8pm.

Dublin’s Lord Mayor Christy Burke will be attending the event. “The initiative is part of the Older Person’s Action Plan 2015 – 2019 which is committed to making Dublin city a great place to grow old in. The event will focus on the positive side of aging and provide older people with many opportunities to engage with their community” said the Lord Mayor.

Twelve organisations will be represented and a range of activities will take place such as tai chi, and an older person’s NCT. There will be a seated balance and mindfulness session and all activities are open to all levels of ability.

The Open Day will cover a number of aspects relating to aging and the services available. A special music event will wrap up the events of the day followed by tea, coffee and refreshments.
