Dublin City Council has announced the return of 'The Wood Quay Summer Sessions’, but this year’s twist is that you’ll be able to enjoy them from the comfort of your own home.

For the 6th successive year, the City Council is proud to be providing a month of high quality free entertainment for the people of Dublin.

Due to Covid-19 we’ve had to change things around a bit this summer and go virtual but it’s still the same great Summer Sessions, just a different format.

The concerts will feature artists from genres ranging from jazz to traditional and will be streamed online from Thursday 9th July from 1pm to 2pm at www.facebook.com/woodquaysummersessions

“I am delighted to support 'The Wood Quay Summer Sessions'. I’m a fan of live music myself and I know it’s one of the many areas that has been badly hit since we all went into lockdown,” said the Lord Mayor of Dublin Hazel Chu. “Like everyone else in Dublin I can’t wait to be able to get back out and enjoy some live music. Until that day comes, this is the next best thing with some great home-grown talent!”

The first concert in this year’s series will be available from 1pm – 2pm on www.facebook.com/woodquaysummersessions on July 9th and features Jazz outfit ‘Big Spoon’. If you miss the concert at 1pm don’t worry as all the concerts will be available to view on Dublin City Council’s You Tube Channel.

So if you’re looking for some high quality entertainment, come join us from Thursday 9th July!

'The Wood Quay Summer Sessions' was founded by Dublin City Council in 2015, in association with First Music Contact, Improvised Music Company, Contemporary Music Centre & Music Network.
