Dublin City Neighbourhoods School Awards 2014 winner announced

St. Clare’s Primary School, Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6w is proud and excited to be the winner of The Dublin City Neighbourhoods School Awards 2014 for their efforts in striving to promote a green environment and a healthy lifestyle.
The Lord Mayor Christy Burke will present the award to St. Clare’s Primary School, at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, on Friday, 5th December at 11.30am.
The Lord Mayor said “It gives me great pleasure to present this award to the pupils and teachers of St. Clare’s Primary School, who have participated in the City Neighbourhoods Awards and Green Flag Award with great enthusiasm and for putting their ideas to the test by thinking globally and acting locally!”
Primary and Secondary Schools around Dublin are invited to enter this competition and are judged on various environmental elements. From waste management initiatives and water conservation efforts, to the landscaping of their school grounds and absence of litter and graffiti. All efforts to work towards a greener environment are taken into consideration.
The pupils and staff of St. Clare’s Primary School are very active environmentally and have previously been awarded the International Green Flag, which is the 8th flag awarded by an Taisce.
