"On behalf of all Dubliners I wish to congratulate the Dublin Senior and Minor Footballers on reaching The All-Ireland final this year. I am particularly delighted to see the Seniors make it to their first All-Ireland final since 1995. We all knew it would be an absorbing contest with both Dublin and Donegal playing to their strengths but with very contrasting styles. Under the stewardship of Pat Gilroy, Dublin's Senior's have exorcised a 16 year old ghost, and possess a great team ethic, which hopefully will stand to them when they meet Kerry in the final on 18th September. There have been so many great Dublin footballers down the years who didn't get the opportunity to play in the final and I am delighted that the current team were rewarded for all their hard work and commitment today."

"It will be a very tough assignment for the both teams in the final but with the hunger, skill, tenacity and athleticism the Dublin teams have shown so far in the Championship, I know they will be highly motivated and that they will perform at their best in an effort to win the final. On behalf of all Dubliners I wish both teams the very best of luck in the final and I urge you to get behind both the Senior and Minor teams and show your support. It promises to be a great day in Croke Park on 18th September"
