Dublin fans will get their chance to celebrate with the all conquering Dublin Senior Football team as All Ireland Champions 2016. The Lord Mayor of Dublin Brendan Carr and Dublin City Council will host a special event for the team, backroom staff, Dublin County Board and True Blue Dubs on Sunday 2nd October at 4.30 p.m. in Smithfield Plaza.

Dublin City Council is asking people to use public transport when travelling to and from the event, which is a family-friendly alcohol-free event. Fans should note that the Smithfield Luas Stop may be closed between 4.30 p.m. & 8pm; the Four Courts and Museum stops will remain open during this time. Fans are also advised to arrive early to get a good vantage point and to be prepared for changeable weather.
Lord Mayor Brendan Carr said “As a True Blue, I am delighted to host the Dublin Senior Football team on the occasion of their All Ireland win. It takes a good team to win one All Ireland but it takes a great team to win back-to-back All Irelands. This feat is all the more special when you consider that Dublin have been unbeaten in league and championship in 2016. I would like to commiserate with Mayo who contributed to a great game today. I encourage all Dubliners to come to Smithfield Plaza tomorrow and once again cheer on the ‘Boys in Blue’ and the backroom staff and to congratulate them on this outstanding achievement.”
Access to the media area will be via close to the stage. To gain access, media personnel must present their Media ID and they will receive a wrist band. If you do not have media ID, you will not be allowed access to the media area.
