Want to learn how to play a Ukulele? Well sign up for this three week course. Ríona Sally Hartman, Musician in Residence with Dublin City Public Libraries and The Music Library are running this course, so this is your opportunity. Places are limited so early booking is advised. Free workshop.

What does a place sound like - a Drop in Choir

Ríona Sally Hartman is the first Musician in Residence with Dublin City Public Libraries. Ríona and The Music Library host  Drop in Choir : What Does a Place Sound Like?

Ríona is writing songs inspired by library users stories about places in Dublin that have meaning for them. In this drop-in, pop-up choir explore together sounds that can be used to describe places, experiment with various vocal techniques and play with improvisation. For intermediate and advanced singers. Suitable for adults. Booking recommended.

Writing Lyrics Using the Cut-Up Method for young adults

Drop in Workshop : Writing Lyrics Using the Cut-Up Method. Want to try out writing lyrics or the first time? Or maybe you’re an experienced lyricist looking for some new techniques and inspiration! Come along to this lyric writing workshop. Ríona Sally Hartman, Musician in Residence with Dublin City Public Libraries will guide on  the cut-up lyrics writing technique famously used by many songwriters including David Bowie and Radiohead. No experience necessary just bring along a pen and paper. Suitable for young adults aged 15 - 17 years.

Young Adult Band in Residence Wanted

Tuesday 24 July at 4pm in the Music Library, Central Library.

Ríona Sally Hartman is the first Musician in Residence with Dublin City Public Libraries. Ríona and The Music Library are looking for young adults who want to make music! Over the course of a few months our musician in residence Ríona will guide them from start to finish in writing, playing, recording and performing their own songs. Whether you like to sing, play an instrument, rap, write lyrics or produce we’d love for young adults interested in making music to come along, meet Ríona, find out more about the project and see if they’d like to sign up for more. The Young Adults Band in Residence will meet weekly, some music experience would be great but not necessary, if you do play an instrument please bring it along.
