Dublin City Libraries - Out and About July 20 - 21

Rose FestivalDublin City Libraries are Out and About on Saturday 20 July and Sunday 21 July. We'll be at the Maker Faire in Merrion Square with out new Maker Bus on Saturday July 20th and at the annual Rose Festival in St. Anne's Park all weekend. At teh rose Festival we'll have workshhops and events for kids and ourMobile Library. See below for more details.

 

 

The Magic of Music

Donaghmede Library, Tuesday 16 July at 11am

Raheny Library. Tuesday 16 July at 2.30pm   *Please note this session is fully booked*

Kevin Street Library, Wednesday 7 August at 2.30pm  

An exciting Magic of Music exploration of how words and rhymes in books bring rhythmic patterns to life. Children will explore this using samba drumming, tuned bells with the chords of Pachelbels Canon, rap music and composition. Suitable for children age 7-11 years.

Artist in Residence at Cabra Library Creative Hub

Cabra Library, Monday 15 to Saturday 20 July at various times.

Cabra Library presents a series of art and craft workshops with Artist in Residence, Jane Fogarty.  This is a week long residency and please note there are different strands to the series, so one can choose from various options in which to attend the sessions. 

Session 1 : Monday 15 to Friday 19 July 10.30am-11.30am & Saturday 20 July 10.30am-12pm.  *Please note all places in Session 1 are now fully booked*

Session 2 : Monday 15 to Friday 19 July 12-1pm & Saturday 20 July 12.30-2pm.  *Please note for Session 2, there are some places available for Thursday 18th and Friday 19th only; all other days now fully booked*

Session 3: Monday 15 to Friday 19 July from 2.30-4.30pm. Sessions 1 & 2 suitable for children age 6-10 years and Session 3 is open to all the family. 

Summer Star Storytime

Rathmines Library, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday at 12pm during July

Summer Star Storytime sessions commencing on Tuesday 2 July to Thursday 25 July.  A storytelling session will take place on each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12pm up to 25 July.  

Sessions most suitable for children age 5-8 years. 

Motion with Motors

Charleville Mall Library, Wednesday 3 July at 2.30pm   

Motion with Motors workshop with Make Create Innovate. Discover how circuits power a gear motor. Design and build a scribble bot that makes art. Suitable for children age 8-11 years. 

Make Your Own Musical Instrument

Central Library, Tuesday 2 July at 2pm  

Make Your Own Musical Instrument workshop with Make Create Innovate. Discover how conductive materials are used to design and make musical instruments. Suitable for children age 8-11.
