The goal for this event is to inform attendees about supports that people with disabilities can access when becoming self-employed. The webinar will feature speakers who will inform you about welfare supports and self-employment programmes currently available in Ireland.

The webinar will take the following format:

  • 12.00 - 12.10 - Prof Tom Cooney: Introduction to the Topic
  • 12.10 - 12.20 - Audrey McPartlin (Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection) will explain welfare benefits and start-up supports
  • 12.20 - 12.30 - Larry O'Neill (South Dublin County Partnership) will talk about the training programmes available through Local Development Companies
  • 12.30 - 12.40 - Eric Lambe (Stepup Ireland) will talk about his initiative which empowers people with disabilities to become entrepreneurs within their communities
  • 12.40 - 13.00 - Questions from the audience

The webinar is being organised by the Dublin Regional Enterprise Plan to 2020 and is being hosted by The Open Doors Initiative. The event is FREE and registration is available through the Eventbrite link.
