Dublin remains one of the top ranked cities in Europe

Dublin maintained its position as the Best Small Region of the Future in Europe in the fDi magazine 2020/2021 rankings and 2nd Overall Best Region. This performance was driven by a strong showing in the Economic Potential (1st) and Business Friendliness (1st) categories. The Dublin region also entered the top 10 in terms of Human Capital & Lifestyle for the first time (8th). 

There was also a strong showing in terms of its City Rankings with Dublin ranked 3rd overall. Within this it ranked 3rd as a city for Business Friendliness and 4th for Economic Potential. Dublin City also performed strongly in FDI Strategy category where it ranked 2nd. For the City Rankings Dublin is classed as a major European City, competing with other European capitals.

Commenting on the rankings, Owen Keegan, Chief Executive of Dublin City Council, said:

“The continued strong performance of Dublin in these fDi rankings reflects the City’s success at attracting investment despite significant challenges. The success is driven by the City’s well established global reputation as a great place to do business.  Public policy has and will continue to play a key supporting role.”
