First Place for ‘River Run’ at Bloom 2011

The Dublin UNESCO City of Literature Garden ‘River Run’ has been awarded overall winner of the Small Garden Category at the 2011 Bloom Festival at the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

‘River Run’, designed by Maryann Harris of Dublin City Council’s Parks and Landscape Services, celebrates the designation by UNESCO, of Dublin, as a City of Literature.

“Literature contributes to our identity and sense of pride. Dublin’s creativity, like River Run flows strongly today. I would like to congratulate Maryann Harris and Dublin City Council’s Parks and Landscape Services on their wonderful achievement at Bloom”  said Councillor Mary O’Shea, representing the Lord Mayor of Dublin.

‘River Run’ was created as a temporary installation for Bloom Festival 2011.  Promoting sustainability the plants and materials will be permanently located at Phibsborough Library, North Circular Road, after the exhibition, and maintained by Dublin City Council’s Parks and Landscape Services.
