Give Sport A Go!

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen will open the “Give Sport a Go” Ballymun Sports Day on Saturday 25th June in Poppintree Park at 11am.

“Give Sport a Go” is the first initiative of The Ballymun Sports Forum committee.   It is hoped that the event will attract people to sports and promote a healthy way of life, while at the same time providing an enjoyable and safe outlet for all involved.  The day promises to be fun packed and entertaining for all age groups with activities such as Soccer, GAA, Volleyball, Athletics and Hip Hop dance being showcased.

“This sports day is a great opportunity for the local sports clubs to show people how easy it is to get active and use their local amenities to their fullest.  I want to thank everyone who was involved in making this day possible and I wish all the budding sports stars here today the best of luck” said the Lord Mayor.

Notes to the Editor:

The Sports Forum is made up of members from Ballymun Regeneration Limited, Dublin City Council, RAPID, Poppintree Community Centre, Ballymun Leisure Centre and all the sporting clubs/organisations in the area.
