The Housing and Community Services are responsible for the management, maintenance and accumulation of public housing in Dublin City. We also source and allocate private houses. The department also has an enforcement role to ensure the quality of accommodation in the private rented sector meets a set of minimum standards.

Eileen Gleeson is the Director of the Dublin Region Homeless Executive (DRHE).  Dublin City Council, through the DHRE, is the lead local authority in the response to Homelessness in Dublin and adopts a shared service approach across South Dublin County Council, Fingal County Council and Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council.
