Irelands first Chinese Film Festival comes to Dublin! 4th - 14th February 2011

The first Chinese Film Festival In Ireland will be launched this evening  by Director Jim Sheridan in the company of the Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, Liu Biwei and Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin Edie Wynne at 6pm at the Irish Film Institute, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

The Chinese Film Festival committee have chosen to screen twelve highly acclaimed Chinese movies over seven days during the festival at the Screen Cinema and the Irish Film Institute, Dublin.

The festival will be launched with the screening of the National Premiere of the multi-award winning “Bodyguards and Assassins” and will finish with the World Premiere of “Blood Oath”, directed by Stephen Zhin and starring Gong Li on Sunday, 13th February.

said Edie Wynne, Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin.


The festival committee and Dublin City Council are hosting Ireland’s first Chinese Film Festival as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and considering it’s  the Year of the Rabbit you’d be hopping mad not to attend!
