Keeping Dublin Moving 10 Years On
‘LiveDrive’, Dublin City FM, is Dublin’s only dedicated live traffic update service broadcasting from Dublin City Council’s Traffic Control Centre.
On Tuesday 15 September 2015 the LiveDrive Team will celebrate its 10th anniversary providing an invaluable service to Dublin commuters. It broadcasts five days a week, providing live traffic flow information to its listeners, as they travel around Dublin, in rain, hail, floods or shine.
Dublin City Council ‘s Head of Technical Services, Brendan O’Brien said, “In 2005 Dublin City Council gave access to the cameras in the Traffic Control Centre, to the LiveDrive Team in order to broadcast accurate, real-time traffic information to Dublin commuters. A decade has past and this collaboration has been a great success ensuring improved traffic flow throughout the city’s busy rush hour streets. Congratulations to the presenters, Pam and John, and all the team on their 10th broadcasting birthday.”
Dublin City FM CEO, Mick Hanley said, “We are delighted to have collaborated with Dublin City Council on this project over the last ten years ensuring an excellent service for Dublin commuters. Great credit goes to all our staff who have worked on the programme during that time.”
