Edward Tulane is a china rabbit that belongs to a ten-year old girl named Abilene, who adores him. When he gets lost, he has lots of adventures as he is passed from owner to owner.

Today, we have chosen ‘The Fossil Hunters’, written by Marilyn Helmer and illustrated by Dermot Walshe. Eight-year old Shelley cannot wait to go to her aunt and uncle’s house on Grey Rocks Lake so that she can play with her cousin Kyle. However, Kyle’s friend Marcus is also staying in the house and Shelley feels left out of the boys’ games.

Dublin City Libraries open for 'Browse and Borrow'

covid updateUpdate, 20th July: Nine Dublin City libraries are now open for browsing and borrowing. These are Ballymun, Cabra, Coolock, and Raheny on the northside, and Ballyfermot, Pearse Street, Pembroke (Ballsbridge) Rathmines and Walkinstown on the southside.

The nine libraries are open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, for users to browse and borrow books, CDs DVDs. In this initial phase of re-opening there will be no seating for reading or studying, and users are encouraged to keep their visit as short as possible, and to use the self-service kiosks.  Visitors will be able to collect printing from the Surfbox printers.

Computer access in also available in all the above branch libraries, albeit in a limited manner.
