Lord Mayor of Dublin, Andrew Montague, is appealing to people to hold coffee mornings to raise much needed funds for the East Africa Emergency Appeal. The Lord Mayor will host a coffee morning in aid of the Appeal on Friday 5th August 2011 from 10am to 12pm in the Oak Room of the Mansion House.

“I am appealing to people to do whatever they can to raise money for the Agencies working in East Africa during this time of famine. Fund raising events don’t have to be elaborate, even something as simple as a coffee morning can raise much need funds. The coffee morning is my way of publicising this worthy cause. Everyone can play their part by organising a similar coffee morning. Representatives from Trócaire, Concern and Oxfam will join us here in the Mansion House to talk about the issues facing East Africa at the moment. All proceeds from the coffee morning will go directly to the East Africa Emergency Appeal” said the Lord Mayor.
