Celebrate Dublin City's Ramsar's World Wetlands with BirdWatch Ireland February 10th North Bull Island Visitor Centre

Dublin City Council invites you to explore the beauty of the city's internationally designated RAMSAR Wetlands in February to coincide with World Wetlands Day which was held on Feb 2.

Wetlands are areas saturated by water, whether natural or artificial, permanent or temporary, static or flowing, fresh, brackish, or marine. The most important wetlands in Dublin City are in Dublin Bay North Bull Island and Sandymount Strand – both are designated by the RAMSAR International Treaty on Wetlands.  At this time of the year they are teeming with winter waterfowl and wading birds including the iconic Light Bellied Brent Geese.
