Bealtaine FestivalDublin City Public Libraries invites you to participate in our programme of events as we celebrate Bealtaine 2017, and support the national Creative Ireland initiative.  The theme of this year’s Bealtaine Festival All Together Now!, celebrates a  call for ‘collective action’. In this programme we’re calling on you to come to any of our twenty branch libraries around the City to experience something new, vibrant, free, and open to all.

There is a real creative aspect to our programme, where you can learn how to felt an ornate 3D vessel using wool, or seek an introduction to the relaxing art of painting on silk. For those with green fingers, Walkinstown Library hosts a 3-part series for the creative gardener.

Are you a budding novelist, prose or short story writer? Why not join one of the Creative Writing groups that meet in selected libraries.

Sing and clap along, and enjoy a musical trip down memory lane as Carnation Theatre perform their new play Noah's Wife missed the boat - she left the washing out!

While there is entertainment and much to make and do, why not take time out to explore the diverse collections in your library. Sign up for or renew your free membership to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and a range of online courses, courtesy of your library service.

There is plenty on offer and remember that admission is free to all events. So for Bealtaine 2017, why not avail of the opportunity to hone your creative talents and be involved as an active citizen via your local library?
