Printer-friendly version

Walkinstown Library, Saturday 22 February 10.15am-12.45pm

Vawn Corrigan is the author of Irish Aran: History, Tradition, Fashion ( O Brien Press 2019 ).  She will explore the fascinating stories around Aran, travelling through the years with wonderful images illustrating how the Aran sweater came to be a marker of Irishness across the world. Textile artist Marja Almqvist will demonstrate using her own-designed hat pattern which features a great combination of Aran stitches.

Attendees will take home a free guide to the stitches and the pattern. All knitting skill levels welcome. Please bring 5mm needles, a cable needle, and an Aran weight yarn in a light colour. Knitting needles and yarn can be purchased on the day if required.

Admission free. Booking required.
