Heritage Week logoDCC historian-in-residence, Cormac Moore, will present a fascinating account of the ways in which Irish sporting bodies dealt with the partition of the island of Ireland from 1921 onwards.

The talk will further explore the reasons for unity or division within particular sports in the wake of partition, and will examine the difficult terrain all sports had to navigate as the new political reality took hold. What happens to the players and the fans when sport is more than just a game?
