Karl Marx and Ireland

Printer-friendly version

Wednesday 3 October at 6:30 pm in Inchicore Library.

Although not central to Marxist thought, the case of Ireland and Irish independence formed an important element of Marx and Engels’ theories on capitalism and colonialism. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Marx birth, Bernard Kelly, Historian in Residence (Dublin City Library and Archive), will survey his life and examine how 19th century Irish nationalism influenced Marxist ideology. The event is free. Booking is required.
