Remembering Life in Jacob’s Biscuit Factory in association with Dublin City Library and Archive & Valeo Foods. Did you work for Jacob’s at either the Bishop Street or Tallaght factory? We are inviting former employees from Jacob’s Biscuit Factory to join us at Dublin City Library and Archive for a special event on 30 September. The morning will include talks, an opportunity to share stories and memorabilia from your working life, and a visit to our exhibition Jacob’s Biscuit Factory & Dublin: An Assorted History.

About the Jacob’s Memorabilia Project
Do you have any memorabilia or artefacts relating to Jacob’s such as tins, labels, or documents ? Do you have photographs of staff outings or events?  We invite you to bring these with you on 30th September and with your permission, we will record and photograph these items on the day. The photographs will then be added to the Jacob’s Biscuit Factory archive for researchers to access.   Everything you bring in will go home with you on the day.

About the Jacob’s Memories Project
Will you share your favourite memory of working at Jacob’s with us? All guests who wish to participate can do a short piece to camera with Dublin City Council Historian-In-Residence Maeve Casserly about their working life. The information recorded will then be added to the Jacob’s Biscuit Factory archive.

12.00:  Our exhibition ‘Jacob’s Biscuit Factory & Dublin: An Assorted History’ will be open for public access and Wendy Williams will be available to answer your questions

10.00-13.00 Throughout the morning we will invite guests to help us record new information to add to our Jacob’s Biscuit Factory Archive with our Jacob’s Memorabilia project and Jacob’s Memories Project. Please let us know when you arrive if you would like to participate in either project.
