Science WeekRunning from 12th – 19th November, Dublin City Public Libraries presents an extensive programme to include hands-on activities and workshops, demonstrations and presentations from science centres and performers.

Science Week Ireland comes of age as it celebrates its 21st anniversary in 2017.The festival highlights how Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) touches every aspect of our daily lives, from the clothes we wear, to our mobile devices that we are rarely without; from the water that comes from our taps, to the sporting heroes that we cheer for. Dublin’s energy agency Codema and SEAI will provide information on how to make your home warmer and cosier for the winter with practical advice on how to cut down on your energy bills! Organisations including Rediscovery Centre, Junior Einstein’s Science Club and Bricks 4 Kidz will host a series of fun learning workshops for children on climate change, energy, forces, space and electricity.

Energy Saving Workshops -Demonstrations of award winning Home Energy Saving Kit, in partnership with CODEMA, Dublin’s Energy Agency and SEAI. Receive expert energy advice on all areas of energy saving in the home, such as : Understanding your energy bills, Heating, Insulation and upgrades, Electrical appliances, Grants available.  Booking is recommended

Science Week for Children - note these events have been assigned to Schools.

Selected libraries will host a series of fun and engaging events to stimulate interest, excitement and debate about Science , Technology, Education & Maths (STEM) through accessible and entertaining presentations and workshops. Programme will include hands-on activities, demonstrations and experiments from science centres and performers.
In partnership with Science Foundation Ireland.
