Upcoming events with the Musician in Residence

Friday 22 June, Saturday 23 June and Thursday 28 June at various times in the Music Library, Central Library, ILAC Centre.

Ríona Sally Hartman is the new Musician in Residence with Dublin City Council. Ríona will host the following events -

  • Listening Party on Friday 22 June at 1pm: Come along and choose an album from The Music Library collections, or bring along your own, and we’ll listen together and discuss what makes them great. Booking required.
  • Ukulele Taster Session for children of all ages on Saturday 23 June from 3.45pm to 4.45pm: Drop in session for children of all ages to be accompanied by their parents. This event is in conjunction with Cruinniú na nÓg. No Booking required.
  • Ukulele Taster Day for Adults and Young Adults on Thursday 28 June from 12.30pm to 1.15pm and 1.30pm to 2.15pm: Come along and try out the ukulele and learn to play a song together. No previous music or ukulele experience necessary. Booking required.

About Ríona

Ríona is a vocalist, composer, educator and bandleader who performs and composes in Irish and English. She releases original music under her own name and her debut album Big Starving Thing, described by The Irish Times as "a finely crafted debut album that unites the musician and the songwriter, drawing water from many wells, from folk and jazz to alt pop and contemporary leider...fresh and unclichéd". Ríona has also performed with many varied projects including IMLÉ, Monster Monster and The National Concert Hall's Education and Community Outreach Ensemble.
