Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 13 of the Planning and Development Acts 2000-2006 that Dublin City Council, being the Planning Authority for Dublin City, has prepared the proposed a Draft Variation of the Dublin City Development Plan 2005-2011 in respect of the following: 

  • RE: Proposed Variation of Dublin City Development Plan 2005-2011. Site at Liberty House, Railway Street, Dublin 1 & Liberty Park, Foley Street, Dublin 1.


The Planning Department is proposing to vary the Dublin City Development Plan 2005-2011 by changing the zoning of the subject site at Liberty House, Railway Street and at Liberty Park, Foley Street, Dublin 1.

From: Zoning Objective Z9 – To preserve, provide and improve recreational amenity and open space.

To: Zoning Objective Z1 – To protect, provide and improve residential amenities.

With a specific site objective in Map E and Section 14.11.0 (Specific Objectives) of the Development Plan:

Liberty House, Railway Street:

“Replacement public open space shall be incorporated into the overall redevelopment of the Liberty House site”.
Purpose of the Proposed Variation
The purpose of the proposed variation would be to change the zoning of open spaces at Liberty House and Liberty Park from Z9 (amenity and open space) to Z1 (residential amenities) for the purpose of reconfiguring existing open space areas and facilitating urban / residential (re)development.

A copy of the proposed Draft Variation will be available for inspection at the Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 from Monday to Friday between the hours of 09.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. from Thursday 19th November to Wednesday 16th December 2009 (both dates inclusive).
