Dublin City Archaeological Archive

Dublin City Archaeological Archive (DCAA), is the first dedicated archaeological archive in Ireland. The Archive is now accepting site records from licensed excavations in Dublin. The remit of the Archive is to preserve records arising from archaeological
investigations conducted in Dublin City by archaeologists working in the private sector.

The obligation to accession material to the archive is a standard archaeological condition of planning permission in Dublin City.
Dublin City Library and Archive (DCLA) manage the DCAA at its facility on Pearse Street. As a guideline to archaeologists donating records to the repository, Dublin City Council has compiled the Dublin City Archaeological Archive Guidelines, a handbook covering all essential elements of the donation process. The Dublin City Archaeological Archive Guidelines provides useful information for the preparation of records for submission to the archive.
