Issues Paper

Dublin City Council is preparing a Local Area Plan (LAP) for Heuston & Environs.  The purpose of this LAP is to provide enhanced detail on how this area should be developed and managed in a sustainable way to meet the needs of all residents in the area.

An important step in making a LAP is to identify the background issues for the local area.  It is an early and important step in the process of preparing the draft LAP and ensures that local issues are identified at an early stage to inform the preparation of the draft plan.  To this end, Dublin City Council has prepared an Issues Paper for Heuston & Environs.

A public display of the Issues Paper will take place at Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8 from Wednesday 6th March to Monday 22nd April 2013 (both dates inclusive).
During the display period, copies of the Issues Paper are available at;

  • Planning Information Counter, Ground Floor, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.

  • South Central Area Office, Floor 1, Eblana House, Marrowbone Lane, Dublin 8.

  • Cabra Local Area Office, 97 New Cabra Road, Dublin 7.

  • Inchicore Library, 34 Emmet Road, Dublin 8.

Members of staff will be available locally on the following dates to discuss and explain the process for preparing a local area plan and to assist with any queries in relation to the plan area:

Saturday 9th March, 10am–1pm                    Hilton Hotel, Kilmainham, Dublin 8
Tuesday 12th March, 3pm–8pm                     Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8
Wednesday 13th March, 5pm–8pm                Inchicore Library, Emmet Road, Dublin 8

The public are encouraged to make a submission on issues that are important from their experiences and perspective and to use the Issues Paper document as a general guide.

Submissions can be made to Dublin City Council and should be addressed to: Niamh Lambert, Planning and Economic Development Department, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8, or by email to localareaplan@dublincity.ie before 4:30pm on Monday 22nd April, 2013.
