Dodder Flood Alleviation Works- Planning Amendment to the previously approved Planning Application 2504/13 at Donnybrook RFC

Dublin City Council is currently engaged in River Dodder Flood Alleviation Works, Phases 2c/2d/2e under a Part 8 planning permission issued in 2013. Part of this project includes works to the western bank of the river Dodder between Herbert Park and Anglesea Bridge (Donnybrook).

Consultation on the Luas Cross City Draft Supplementary Development Contributions Scheme

Luas Cross City - St. Stephens Green to Broombridge Line is a 6km line extension of the Luas system to the north of the city centre, providing an interchange between the existing Red and Green Luas lines. Notice is hereby given that Dublin City Council has prepared a Draft Supplementary Development Contribution Scheme for the Luas Cross City - St. Stephens Green to Broombridge Line in accordance with the provisions of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.

Consultation on the Clontarf to City Centre Cycle Route

Dublin City Council is proposing to provide a high quality, continuous and consistent cycle route linking the existing cycle track at Clontarf Promenade to the junction of Talbot Street and Amiens Street, to cater for commuter and recreational cycling. The project also includes a riverside link as part of the Tolka Valley Greenway through Fairview Park from Annesley Bridge to Alfie Byrne Road and facilitates linkage to other routes along the scheme, including to the future Royal Canal Route.

Consultation on the draft Public Realm Masterplan for the North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock SDZ Planning Scheme 2014

Comments and observations are now invited on the draft Public Realm Masterplan for the North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock SDZ Planning Scheme 2014. Ballymun Local Area Plan - Issues Paper

The City Council invites interested parties or individuals to make submissions or observations with respect to the Issues Paper for the Draft Local Area Plan during the public consultation stage.

A series of public information sessions will be held in the Ballymun Civic Centre, Main Street, Ballymun, Dublin 9 on the following dates:-

EU TURAS Project

 
11 cities are part of the EU project called TURAS which is an acronym for ‘Transitioning towards Urban Resilience’. In Dublin the collaboration is between Dublin City Council, University College Dublin and small to medium enterprise (SMEs).  Click here for further details
 

The City Council is reviewing the existing Local Area Plan for Phibsborough/Mountjoy, 2008 with a view to preparing a Draft Amended Local Area Plan for the area.

Interested parties or individuals are invited to make submissions or observations with respect to the issues for the proposed Draft Amended Local Area Plan during the pre-draft public consultation stage from Monday, 7th July 2014 to Tuesday 5th August 2014 (both dates inclusive).  Children, or groups or associations representing children, are entitled to make submissions or observations. URBACT II – Urban Sustainable Environmental Actions

URBACT II is a European Programme that aims to foster the exchange of experience among European cities and to capitalise on and disseminate knowledge on all issues relating to sustainable urban development. The City of Dublin is currently part of a network under URBACT II looking at re using and re-functionalising of inner urban areas to reduce urban sprawl.  Click here for further details


Liberties Local Area Plan extended to May 2020

At the City Council meeting on the 7th April 2014, the Members of Dublin City Council, agreed by resolution, under section 19 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended), to extend the life of the Liberties Local Area Plan by a period of five years (until 10th May 2020). Transboundary Planning Consultation Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm Proposal, Irish Sea

Pursuant to the Planning & Development Act 2000, as amended & Article 132(1) of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001 (as amended by Article 31 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2006) the Minister for Environment Community and Local Government has received information from a transboundary state, United Kingdom , in relation to a development in that state.  The proposed development is subject to an environmental assessment procedure and has potential transboundary effects.   The transboundary state may grant permission subject to conditions or without conditions, or may refuse to grant permission.

The future of the Revised South Georgian Core

The report sets out a vision for the south Georgian Dublin as a unique heritage quarter in which to live, stay and work. A set of policies and design guidelines are proposed to promote the “Living, working and waking up in Georgian Dublin” concept.

On the 18th December 2012, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, announced that parts of the Dublin Docklands area at North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock have been designated as a Strategic Development Zone (SDZ). Dublin City Council, at its meeting on 5th November 2013, decided by resolution to make the North Lotts & Grand Canal Dock Planning Scheme. For full details please click here.

Dublin City Council is preparing a Local Area Plan (LAP) for Heuston & Environs.  The purpose of this LAP is to provide enhanced detail on how this area should be developed and managed in a sustainable way to meet the needs of all residents in the area. Click Here for further details


Development Contribution Scheme 2013-2015

Notice is hereby given that Dublin City Council at its Monthly Meeting of Council held on 3rd December, 2012 made a Development Contribution Scheme in accordance with the provisions of Section 48 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended. Details of the proposed contributions under the Development Contribution Scheme as made for the administrative area of Dublin City Council are as follows:

Description of Development Amount of Contribution
Industrial / Commercial Development €93.42 per square metre of industrial / commercial development
Residential €115.21 per square metre of residential development
The above rates shall be fixed from 1st January 2013 to 31st December 2014. The rate of contributions for the period 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2015 shall be determined at the appropriate time in consideration of any changes in the Tender Price Index in the intervening time. The commencement of the Scheme becomes effective for decisions to grant permission from 1st January, 2013.

Approval for the Grangegorman Strategic Development Zone Planning Scheme

An Bord Pleanála approved the making of a Planning Scheme for the Grangegorman Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) on 2nd May, 2012. A copy of the consolidated Planning Scheme document incorporating the Draft Planning Scheme, April 2011, the modifications adopted by Dublin City Council on 25th July 2011 and the further modifications approved by An Bord Pleanala on 2nd May 2012 has been drawn up by the Grangegorman Development Agency.
