The Development Phase Final meeting of the Thematic Network USEAct (Urban Sustainable Environmental Actions) - took place in Dublin the 11th and 12th October 2012.

This meeting gave an opportunity to finalize the main themes and outputs of USEAct project, in order to be ready to apply for the second phase of the project; furthermore it will be the occasion to meet the new partners that will join the network.

The initial partners involved in the project are: City of Naples (Italy – Lead Partner); City of Athens (Greece); Baia Mare Metropolitan Area (Romania); City of Barakaldo (Spain) City of Dublin (Ireland). The new partners involved for the second phase are:  Buckinghamshire Business First (UK); City of Nitra (Slovak Republic); Østfold County (Norway); Riga Region (Latvia); City of Trieste (Italy); City of Viladecans (Spain); City of Warsaw (Poland).

The USEAct project aims to achieve urban development and new or improved settlement opportunities for people and businesses taking up residence in existing locations, without consumption of further land and at the same time developing the construction and real estate economies, making the most of the historic building heritage and related character, reducing energy consumption in buildings and cutting back on further infrastructure building/management costs. We can reach these targets through the activity of the thematic network and the exchange of experiences and knowledge, towards the definition of integrated frameworks.
