Book of Condolence for Seamus Heaney opens at Dublin’s Mansion House

Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisín Quinn has expressed regret on behalf of all Dubliners on hearing of the death of Seamus Heaney.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin will formally open a Book of Condolence at 10am at Dublin’s Mansion House Monday 2nd September.

Seamus Heaney was a resident of Dublin and the only surviving Nobel Laureate to live in Dublin. He also was a staunch supporter of the successful bid which led to Dublin being declared a UNESCO City of Literature in 2010.

The Book of Condolence will be available for signing by members of the public at the following times:

  • Monday 2nd September, 2013 - 10am – 5pm
  • Tuesday 3rd September 2013 - 10am – 5pm
  • Wednesday 4th September 2013 - 10am – 5pm
