The Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisín Quinn and his 5 Alive Challenge Team will take part in the Liffey Valley Tom Brennan Memorial 5K run in the Phoenix Park at 12 noon on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, 1st January, 2014.
The Liffey Valley Tom Brennan Memorial 5K run is the first in the Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge series for 2014, the second time this initiative has been held.  Over 200 runners, joggers and walkers have volunteered to join Oisín Quinn in his quest to complete five of Dublin best road races.
The Lord Mayor said “I am looking forward to the first of our five races. Last year’s inaugural 5 Alive Challenge was such a success, I was happy to continue this great initiative. I know my team has put a huge amount of time and effort into preparing for the Tom Brennan Memorial 5K and I would like to wish the best of luck to all those taking part on New Year’s Day. I would also like to say a big thank you to the Liffey Valley Athletics’ Club who have organised today’s event.”
The Lord Mayor’s 5 Alive Challenge is supported by Dublin City Council’s Sports Section.
