Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí expresses his condolences on the death of Kevin Heffernan

Dublin’s Lord Mayor Naoise Ó Muirí has expressed his deep sadness on the death of the Kevin Heffernan.

“I was very sorry to hear of the death of Kevin Heffernan and I would like to extend my sympathies to his wife Mary, daughter Orla and his many friends.

Kevin was a legendary Dublin footballer and Manager who changed the face of football in the capital during the 70s and 80s. He had a distinguished career both at club and inter-county level, winning All-Ireland medals both as a player and a manager.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to sport in the capital, Kevin was granted the Honorary Freedom of the City of Dublin in 2004” said The Lord Mayor.
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
