Dublin fans will get their chance to celebrate with the Dublin Senior Football team as All Ireland Champions 2013. A special event hosted by Dublin’s Lord Mayor, Oisín Quinn and Dublin City Council for the team, backroom staff, Dublin County Board and True Blue Dubs will take place at:

  • Merrion Square (junction of Merrion Square South and Merrion Square East)
  • Monday, 23rd September at 7pm ( access from 6pm)

On behalf of Dublin City Council, Des Cahill MC will welcome the Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisín Quinn, the victorious team and Andy Kettle, Chairman of the Dublin County Board onto the stage at 7p.m.
“After defeats in the semi finals in both 2006 and 2012 Dublin finally ended Mayo’s recent dominance over them in the championship to claim the ultimate prize. It’s a thrilling day for Dubs at home and abroad.  It’s great to bring Sam home again for the second time in three years after lending him to Donegal last year!” said the Lord Mayor.
This is a family-friendly alcohol-free event. Dublin City Council asks people to use public transport when travelling to and from the event and keep an eye on the weather.
Dublin City Council is hosting this event  to give supporters a chance to see the team, the Sam Maguire Cup and to congratulate the team on winning the All Ireland Football Final. There might even be a sing song!
Access to the celebration will be via Merrion Square East, Merrion Square South or Fitzwilliam Street Lower from 6 p.m on the 23rd September 2013
Traffic restrictions will be in place from 06:00 hours on Monday 23rd Sept. on Merrion Square East and South; Mount Street Upper; and Fitzwilliam Street Lower.
