Dublin City Council Kick-Starts the New Year

Dublin City Council invites you to join in their organised walk around Father Collin’s Park this Saturday, 18 January 2014. The walk is organised by the Council’s Sport & Recreation Team in conjunction with RTE’s Operation Transformation.  3 Kilometres will be the total distance taking in the wonderful amenity of Ireland’s first wholly sustainable park.

As part of the ethos of the Sports & Recreation Team, the walk promotes healthy living and physical activity in an outdoor environment.

Speaking on the walk, Dublin’s Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn said: “The City Council endeavours to continually promote and highlight the significance of sport as part of a healthier lifestyle. We are delighted to promote this walk which will help kick-start our new years’ resolutions into gear whilst also enjoying the benefits of outdoor activities”.

The walk will take place at 11a.m. meeting at ‘Trinity Sports & Leisure Club’, Hole in the Wall Road, Donaghmede, Dublin  13.

Notes to the editor:

Public transport is encouraged as there is minimal car parking in the vicinity. Bus no. 15 or Dart to Clongriffin Station is in very close proximity to Father Collins Park. Note: No dogs allowed.
