Lunchtime Lectures in Dublin’s City Hall

Dublin City Council’s very successful free lunch time lecture series returns this April.  The spring series runs every Tuesday throughout the month of April in the Council Chamber, City Hall, starting on Tuesday 1st April 2014 and ending on Tuesday 29th April 2014.  This lecture series will mark the Millennium of the Battle of Clontarf.  All lectures start at 1.10pm and end at 1.50pm with ten minutes afterwards for discussion and questions.  Admission is free and all are welcome.

Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisín Quinn, who will open and chair the first lecture says, “I am delighted to open and chair the first of this lecture series which marks the millennium of the Battle of Clontarf.  This series will not only enlighten us about the battle but also give insights into King Brian Boru and Queen Gormlaith, the Brian Boru Harp and the various murals by James Ward in City Hall.  I would like to thank all the speakers, Dublin City Public Libraries and in particular the Archive Section, and commend their tireless commitment to history.”
