Herbert Park Memorial to Joe Doyle 1936 – 2009

Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn with unveil a park bench and plant a tree at Herbert Park, Dublin 4  on Friday, 21st March 2014 at 2pm, at a special ceremony to commemorate the late Councillor Joe Doyle.

Mr. Doyle was first elected to Dublin City Council for the Pembroke Area in 1979.
He went on to serve as a Dáil Deputy and Senator and held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1998-1999.

Mr. Doyle’s family, friends and colleagues will join the Lord Mayor to remember and celebrate his life and twenty five years service as a public representative. 

Lord Mayor of Dublin Oisín Quinn says “Former Lord Mayor of Dublin Joe Doyle was a committed public representative in Dublin City Council, Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann. The people of Dublin South East have very fond memories of Joe’s integrity, compassion and commitment in achieving what he believed was best for the people he represented.  It gives me great pleasure to unveil this park bench in beautiful Herbert Park in the heart of the area which he represented in public life for 25 unbroken years.”
