Ballsbridge, Donnybrook and Sandymount Historical Society
The Ballsbridge, Donnybrook and Sandymount Historical Society was founded in Pembroke Library in 2006 with the aim of promoting an interest in local history in the area. To this end the Society arranges lectures, exhibitions and walking tours. They also publish an Annual Record that details talks and events that went on during the previous year.
Lecture meetings are currently held in Pembroke Library, once a month, at 1.00 pm (on Wednesdays). Details of complete programme are on the Society’s website. Cabra History & Folklore Group
The Cabra History and Folklore Group is a group of local people who meet regularly, who have an interest in all aspects of history and in particular the social history of the greater Cabra area. The aim of the group is to provide a platform for local people where they can explore all aspects of history in a friendly, non-judgemental and fun environment. The Group will compile and record information, recollections and memories of the past with a view to building a personal and community memory bank of the greater Cabra area. Through the medium of photography, computerisation and electronic communication the group plan on storing all aspects of information related to the greater Cabra area for future generation to come.

Old Dublin Society
The Old Dublin Society talks are held on on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6pm in Conference Room, Dublin City Library and Archive, 138-144 Pearse Street, Dublin 2. Previous topics have included The Augustinians in Dublin and The Dublin Bay Lifeboat Disaster of 1895. The spring series is generally held in February/March/April; autumn series in September/October/November. All are welcome and admission is free. We publish twice yearly an account of most talks in the Dublin Historical Record.
