Toddler Groups

Toddler groupToddler groups operate in 14 branch libraries; days/times vary and it might be advisable to check with the relevant library in advance. Details are as follows:

Book Clubs for Children

The New PolicemanThere are children's book clubs in branch libraries across the city, namely Ballymun, Ballyfermot, Cabra, Coolock, Donaghmede, Finglas, Pembroke (Ballsbridge), Raheny, Rathmines and Walkinstown libraries. Dates and times listed below may vary so it is advisable to check with the library in advance if wanting to participate in a Book Club.

The members of most clubs choose a book to read and get together every 3-4 weeks to discuss it. The library provides the books of course. Library staff often research the authors and books as a background to the discussion. Some clubs offer members the chance to come along and talk about the book they are reading currently - these clubs can take place more often as there is no set book to read.

Book Clubs

BooksBook clubs are a popular way for book lovers to discuss books, both fiction and non-fiction, in an informal friendly setting. Some book clubs meet in libraries or each other's homes, some in pubs or restaurants. While there are book clubs active in most of our branch libraries, dates and times can vary, so check with the library in advance if interested in participating in one of the book clubs. Due to the popularity of some book clubs, there may unfortunately be restrictions regarding the intake of new members from time to time, so it is advisable to check on that also.
