On-Street Cycle Parking

Dublin City Council provides approximately 8,000 on-street cycle parking spaces across its administrative area.

The Dublin City Centre Cycle Parking Strategy Report, published in 2015, provided a detailed survey of the current cycle parking provision and sought to quantify the city’s future needs. At the time of the survey, there were 4,625 on-street cycle parking spaces.

Since 2015, DCC has steadily increased the rate of installation of on-street cycle parking with more cycle parking stands installed in Dublin during 2018 than in any other year in the past 2 decades.  In 2019, DCC continued the rate of expansion and successfully installed 977 Sheffield Stands, providing a total of 1954 new cycle parking spaces. DCC intends to maintain this level of installation of cycle parking for 2020 and beyond.
