Clonshaugh Road Improvement Scheme – Phase 2

(Clonshaugh Avenue to Riverside Park)

Following the construction of Clonshaugh Road, including:

  • Phase 1 (Belcamp Lane / N32 to Clonshaugh Avenue), and
  • Phase 3 (Riverside Park to Oscar Traynor), 

… the central section, Phase 2 (Clonshaugh Avenue to Riverside Park) will now be constructed.

It is proposed to carry out the following improvement works:

  1. Reconstruction and re-alignment of the road from Clonshaugh Avenue to Riverside Avenue (length approx 420 metres).
  2. Provide new concrete footpaths on both sides along the full length of the road.
  3. Provide improved pedestrian crossing facilities.
  4. Provide a new surface water drainage system.
  5. Provide a new public lighting scheme.
  6. Landscape the verge areas.

Dublin City Council has engaged Main Contractor…

…to construct the above road scheme, and under the supervision of Roads Construction Division (01 222 30 66), Roads and Traffic Department, Dublin City Council.

Works are due to commence on Monday 1st October, 2012, and may be expected to continue for approximately 26 weeks (April 2013).  Working hours will largely be 08:00-18:00hrs, Monday to Friday.  Occasional evening and weekend working may be anticipated.

Access to premises, including vehicular access, along the Scheme will be maintained during the Works.

Pedestrian access along the Scheme will be maintained during the Works.

Similarly, access for emergency services, and refuse collection, will also be maintained.

A one-way south-bound traffic flow arrangement, with north-bound detours will be adopted during the course of the Works – see attached Temporary Traffic Management Plan drawing (the content of which plan is summarily presented, in text, in the Table immediately below).

To facilitate the construction of the Works, the Contractor will use vacant land on the east side of the road between the junctions of Newbury Wood and Riverside Park.

Dublin City Council acknowledges and appreciates in anticipation, the public’s understanding and cooperation during the course of these Works.
