About the scheme:

The proposed scheme has been developed by Dublin City Council to upgrade the westbound bus lane of the R148 (old N4) Chapelizod Bypass.  Overriding purpose is to provide a continuous and consistent bus lane and traffic lanes along the R148, Chapelizod Bypass, providing improved priority for buses that are frequently delayed along this section of road. The project forms part of a wider scheme to widen the bus lane and resurface both carriageways of the R148, Chapelizod Bypass between South Circular Road and Kennelsfort Road in Palmerstown.

There are two main remaining areas where improvements are now required to the road corridor in order to complete the scheme. The first area is located from the Kylemore Road over-bridge and merge junction to the boundary with South Dublin County Council (SDCC), and the second area from Memorial Road to Sarsfield Road.

The scheme is funded by the National Transport Authority. If you have any queries please contact traffic@dublincity.ie for the attention of Mary Hussey
