Frederick Street South, Dublin 2

Gas Networks Ireland intends to close the following road to facilitate gas main works on the date and times listed below:

Frederick Street South (from Setanta Place to Nassau Street), Dublin 2 from 08.30hrs to 19.00hrs on Saturday 1st October 2016.

  • Traffic on Frederick Street South wishing to travel via Nassau Street to Lincoln Place will be diverted via Setanta Place, Kildare Street, Merrion Row, Merrion Street Upper, Merrion Square West and Clare Street.

A request has been received from Dublin City Council’s, Road Construction Division for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate remedial paving on Grafton Street on the dates and times listed below:

Dublin City Council’s, Road Construction Division intends to close the following road on the dates and times listed below to facilitate urgent remedial paving on Grafton Street:

ESB Networks intends to close the following road on the dates and times listed below to facilitate ESB emergency works:

Camden Place (from Camden Street to Harcourt Street), Dublin 2 between 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs each day from Monday 19th September 2016 to Wednesday 30th November 2016.

Grant Thornton 5K Road Race

Athletic Ireland intends to close the following roads to facilitate the Grant Thornton Corporate 5K Team Challenge 2016.

  • Samuel Beckett Bridge, City Quay, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Cardiff Lane, Custom House Quay, North Wall Quay and Guild Street from 19:00 hrs to 20:30 hrs on Tuesday 13th September 2016.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Southbound traffic on North Strand Road / Portland Row wishing to travel across Samuel Beckett Bridge will be diverted via Amiens Street, Memorial Road and Talbot Memorial Bridge.
  • Northbound traffic on Macken Street / Pearse Street wishing to travel across Samuel Beckett Bridge will be diverted via Pearse Street, Tara Street and Butt Bridge.

Great Dublin Bike Ride

Cycling Ireland (with Irish Sports Council) intends to close the following roads to facilitate the start of the Great Dublin Bike Ride on the date and times listed below:

  • Arran Quay, Father Matthew Bridge, Inns Quay, O’Donovan Rossa Bridge, Grattan Bridge, Ormond Quay Lower & Upper, Bachelors Walk, O’Connell Bridge, Eden Quay, Butt Bridge, Talbot Memorial Bridge, Custom House Quay, Samuel Beckett Bridge and North Wall Quay from 07.30hrs to 09.00hrs on Sunday 11th September 2016.

Traffic Management Plan

  • Traffic wishing to cross the Liffey during the temporary road closures on the north Quays, from 07.30 to 09.00hrs, will be diverted via Islandbridge and East Link Bridge /Port Tunnel.
  • The Gardai will temporarily manage traffic at junctions along the routes between 08.00 and 13.50 hrs.
  • Traffic diversions will apply as the race proceeds.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained. 
     

Spring Garden Lane, Dublin 2.

A request has been received from the Athletics Ireland for the temporary closure of the following roads to facilitate the Grant Thornton Corporate 5k Team Challenge 2016.

Samuel Beckett Bridge, City Quay, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Cardiff Lane, Custom House Quay, North Wall Quay and Guild Street from 19:00 hrs to 20:30 hrs on Tuesday 13th September 2016.

GMC Utilities Ltd intends to close the following streets to facilitate Luas Cross City works:

Suffolk Street and Grafton Street (from Nassau Street to Duke Street), Dublin 2 from 0.00hrs on Sunday 1st  November 2015 to 24.00hrs on Monday 31st October 2016.

  • Bus Gate on Nassau Street, from Dawson Street to Suffolk Street, will be closed.
  • Traffic on Dawson Street wishing to travel on Nassau Street to access Suffolk Street & Grafton Street will be diverted via Nassau Street, Leinster Street South, Lincoln Place, Westland Row, Pearse Street, College Street, College Green, Trinity Street and St. Andrew Street.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Alterations to Traffic Arrangements on Bishop Street from February 1st 2015.

In a bid to reduce traffic conflict at the junction, Dublin City Council will be closing access from Bishop Street onto Aungier Street/Redmond’s Hill from Sunday February 1st 2015.

The closure is designed to improve traffic flow along Aungier Street particularly in light of the increased bus traffic in the area due to recent Luas Diversionary works.

The closure will make it safer for both pedestrians and cyclists passing through the junction and improve the environment for local residents by reducing traffic along Bishop Street.

The closure will initially be implemented for a trial period of 6 months with a view to making the closure permanent should it prove successful.

A drawing indicating alternative routes for motorists on Bishop Street from 1st February 2015 is provided below.

Possible Diversionary Routes for Local Traffic on Bishop’s Street

Bishop Street to Wexford Street:

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place and turn right onto Aungier Street.

Bishop Street to Aungier Street:

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place and turn right or left onto Aungier Street.

Bishop Street to Digges Street Upper

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place, turn right onto Aungier Street, and then turn left onto Digges Street Upper

A request has been received from Pantibar for the temporary closure of the following road to enhance crowd safety at an event in  Panitbar on the dates and times listed below:

Strand Street Great (from Jervis Street to Capel Street), Dublin 1 from 09.00hrs on Saturday 25th June to 01.00hrs on Sunday 26th June 2015.
