Dawson Lane, Dublin 2.

A request has been received from Sisk Steconfer Joint Venture for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate Luas Cross City works on the dates and times listed below:

  • Dawson Lane, Dublin 2 from 0.00hrs on Friday 26th February to 24.00hrs on Sunday 6th March 2016.

  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Fleet Street, Dublin 2.

A request has been received from Sisk Steconfer Joint Venture for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate Luas Cross City works on the dates and times listed below:

  • Fleet Street (from Westmoreland Street to Aston Place), Dublin 2 from Monday 22nd February to Sunday 13th March 2016.

Night–time closures only between 21.00hrs to 06.00hrs each night.

  • Traffic on Westmoreland Street wishing to travel on Fleet Street to Temple Bar will be diverted via Aston Quay and Aston Place.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

St. Michael’s Close, Dublin 8.

A request has been received from Virgin Media Ireland Ltd for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate fibre duct laying works:

  • Saint Michael’s Close (from High Street to Borris Court), Dublin 8 from 09.00hrs on Saturday 5th March 2016 to 19.00hrs on Sunday 6th March 2016.

St. Anne’s Road North, Dublin 9.

A request has been received from KN Networks Services for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate crane lift operations:

  • St. Anne’s Road North, Dublin 9 from 09.00hrs on Monday 29th February 2016 to 06.00hrs on Tuesday 1st March 2016.

Traffic Management

  • Traffic on Drumcondra Road Lower wishing to travel on St. Anne’s Road will be diverted via St. Alphonsus Road and St. Patrick’s Road.

St. Andrew’s Lane, Dublin 2.

A request has been received from Glenbeigh Construction Ltd. for the temporary closure of the following road to facilitate crane lift operations:

  • Period 1:    From 0.00hrs to 07.00hrs on Tuesday 23rd February 2016.
  • Period 2:    From 0.00hrs to 07.00hrs on Wednesday 24th February 2016.
  • Period 3:    From 0.00hrs to 07.00hrs on Tuesday 1st March 2016.
  • Period 4:    From 0.00hrs to 07.00hrs on Wednesday 2nd March 2016.

Smithfield Horse Fair

A request has been received from The City Council’s Culture, Recreation, Amenity and Community Department for the temporary closure of the following roads to facilitate the Smithfield Horse Fair:

  • Smithfield, New Church Street, Friary Grove, Bow Street, Lincoln Lane, Nicholas Avenue, May Lane, Hammond Lane, Phoenix Street North, Arran Street, Haymarket, Blackhall Walk, Brown Street North, Burgess Lane, Arran Quay Terrace, Coke Lane and Stable Lane, Dublin 7, from 07:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs on Sunday 6th March 2015.

  • Horse Fair traffic access to Smithfield will be via North King Street only.
  • Local vehicular access will be maintained.
  •  Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Temple Lane South, Temple Bar, Dublin 2.

The City Council’s Road Maintenance Division intends to close the following road to facilitate roadway repairs on the dates and times listed below:   

  • Phase 1:    Temple Lane South (from Temple Bar to Cecilia Street), Temple Bar, Dublin 2 from 0.00hrs on Monday 22nd February 2016 to 24.00hrs on Monday 29th February 2016.
  • Phase 2:    Temple Lane South (from Cecilia Street to Dame Street), Temple Bar, Dublin 2 from 0.00hrs on Tuesday 1st March 2016 to 24.00hrs on Monday 7th March 2016.

Martins Row and Main Street,  D. 20.

A request has been received from The City Council’s Roads Maintenance Division for the temporary closure of the following roads to facilitate road ramps resurfacing works on the dates and times listed below:

  • Martin’s Row and Main Street, Chapelizod, Dublin 20 from 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs on Sunday 21st February 2016.

Traffic Management Plan

  •  No through traffic from Chapelizod Road to Knockmaroon Hill and vice versa, so traffic will be diverted via Phoenix Park.
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2.

John Paul Construction intends to close the following road to facilitate crane lifting operations on the dates and times listed below:

  • Baggot Street Lower (from Merrion Street Upper to Pembroke Street Lower), Dublin 2 from 06.00hrs to 19.00hrs on Sunday 14th February 2016.

This temporary road closure was previously scheduled for Sunday 31st January 2016 but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Bennett Construction Ltd. intends to close the following road to facilitate removal of a tower crane on the dates and times listed below:

Cathedral Street, Dublin 1.

Cathedral Street (from Thomas Lane to Marlborough Street), Dublin 1 from 0.00hrs on Tuesday 27th October 2015 to 24.00hrs on Thursday 11th February 2016.

  • A one-way system, southbound, will be implemented on Marlborough Street, from Cathal Brugha to Cathedral Street.
  • Local traffic on Marlborough Street, on section North Earl Street to Cathal Brugha Street, wishing to travel on Cathal Brugha Street, will be diverted via Cathedral Street (by means temporary traffic management) and Thomas Lane. 
  • Pedestrian and local access will be maintained.

 


Grafton Street, Dublin 2

Sisk Steconfer Joint Venture intends to close the following road to facilitate road resurfacing works on the dates and times listed below:

Grafton Street (from King Street South to St Stephen’s Green North), Dublin 2 from 0.00hrs on Monday 5th October 2015 to 24.00hrs on Sunday 31st January 2016.

  • Goods vehicles on Grafton Street from 06.00 to 11.00 hrs wishing to access St Stephen’s Green North will be diverted via King Street South, Clarendon Row, Chatham Row, William Street South, Johnson Place, Mercer Street Upper & Lower, Cuffe Street and St Stephen’s Green South & East.
  • Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Alterations to Traffic Arrangements on Bishop Street from February 1st 2015.

In a bid to reduce traffic conflict at the junction, Dublin City Council will be closing access from Bishop Street onto Aungier Street/Redmond’s Hill from Sunday February 1st 2015.

The closure is designed to improve traffic flow along Aungier Street particularly in light of the increased bus traffic in the area due to recent Luas Diversionary works.

The closure will make it safer for both pedestrians and cyclists passing through the junction and improve the environment for local residents by reducing traffic along Bishop Street.

The closure will initially be implemented for a trial period of 6 months with a view to making the closure permanent should it prove successful.

Possible Diversionary Routes for Local Traffic on Bishop’s Street

Bishop Street to Wexford Street:

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place and turn right onto Aungier Street.

Bishop Street to Aungier Street:

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place and turn right or left onto Aungier Street.

Bishop Street to Digges Street Upper

Traffic can proceed down Peter’s Row, turn right at Whitefriar Place, turn right onto Aungier Street, and then turn left onto Digges Street Upper
