Green Home Programme - Calling All Householders!

Printer-friendly version

Find out how you and your family can save money by reducing household bills. This is also your chance to ‘do your bit’ for the Environment with An Taisce’s new Green Home Programme

What is ‘Green Home’?

Green Home is a new environmental programme designed for householders to use within their own homes. The programme is being developed by An Taisce Environmental Education Unit in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under their National Waste Prevention Programme.

What is ‘Green Home’ trying to achieve?

The programme aims to support and direct you as a householder as you try to bring down your waste and fuel bills by putting certain actions into place. By carrying out these actions, you will also reduce the amount of CO2 emissions going into the atmosphere which is causing Climate Change. Every time we send too much waste to landfill, leave lights on unnecessarily or use too much water, we are contributing to the ever-increasing CO2 levels.

Not many know that Irish householders are responsible for quarter of Ireland’s CO2 emissions so if we all play our part we can help to reduce these figures substantially.
