Commercial Food Waste Regulations and Derogations

The Waste Management (Food Waste) regulations 2009 are designed to promote segregation and recovery of food waste arising in the commercial sector and reduce disposal to landfill. They will facilitate the achievement of the landfill directive targets for the diversion of Biodegradable Municipal Waste (BMW) from landfill.

Dublin City Council offers a commercial brown bin service in accordance with the Waste Management (Food Waste) Regulations 2009.  Please select one of the following for more information on the Food Waste Regulations.

Please note after 1st July 2011, All premises where food is produced including those producing less than 50kg per week will be required to segregate food waste in a separate bin in accordance with the provisions of the Food Waste Regulations.

In order to comply with the Food Waste Regulations you must complete the Event Feedback Form located on this web page.
The Event Feedback Form must be sent back to Dublin City Council within 28 days of the conclusion of the event.
