Printer-friendly version

Irish Water has been carrying out essential upgrade works at Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant since the 7thNovember 2016.  The anticipated date for the completion of the works has been extended to the 28th November 2016.

As a result of these works, water quality in Dublin Bay and the Liffey Estuary may temporarily deteriorate.  In consultation with the HSE, a temporary bathing water prohibition has been issued for all bathing waters for the duration of the works.  Notices have been erected on both designated and non-designated bathing waters to inform bathers that a bathing water prohibition is in place for the duration of these works. The bathing waters in question are: Dollymount, Sandymount and Merrion Strands, North Bull Wall, Half Moon and Shelly Banks.

Water quality is being monitored on an ongoing basis for the duration of the works.
