Strategy and Projects
Celebration of 10 years of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Engineering within Dublin City Council Exhibition
This exhibition from Monday 26th September to Friday 14th October (and also Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October) in Civic Offices aims to highlight and promote the services which DCC engineering departments and sections provide to its citizens on a day to day basis. It shows what its engineers and technicians have achieved for the city, the region and the country and it outlines plans for the future. The exhibition will give a general overview of engineering operations, and will also briefly explain some facts about major infrastructural projects.
CPD is a process which supports lifelong learning, encouraging staff to acquire new skills and abilities and to keep their knowledge base up to date. This overall “Engineers Ireland” CPD initiative is funded by the Department of Education and Skills, through the National Training Fund. Dublin City Council was the first City Council and the 3rd Local Authority in Ireland to achieve the high honour of an Engineers Ireland Accredited Employer in 2004 from the Engineering professional body, ‘Engineers Ireland’. The Council was named Public Sector CPD Company of the year in 2009.
